Sample pacing/scheduling

These are the schedules I used the last year I taught APUSH, and I leave them here so that you can see one way to pace yourself so you do not get behind. Falling behind is deadly in APUSH, especially, since it is content dense, regardless of recent tweaking by the College Board. So here’s a resource for you.

    yeah there is a meeting for Mizzou on Oct. 16 at noon. It’s just not listed, so just go and ask at the counselors for it.

    If you guys want a good website for quizzes over each of the chapters, go to:

    http://college.cengage.com/history/us/kennedy/am_pageant_brief/6e/students/ace.html

    It’s the official website for the sixth edition of our book (we have the thirteenth edition). It has 30-question quizzes for each chapter that are very useful for studying. Even though it’s for the sixth edition, it reviews the same material.

    Hi, Scoop! I wrote you the code for the days counter. You *should* be able to copy-paste this in place of the actual number–leave all the surrounding text like ” DAYS to the EXAM!!!!!!!!”. If all goes well, it’ll work automagically and require no more updating:

    function showdays(){
    var today = new Date();
    var testday = new Date(‘May 8, 7:30 AM ‘+(today.getFullYear()));

    if(today>testday)
    {
    testday.setYear(today.getFullYear()+1);
    }
    var diff=testday-today;
    var daysleft=Math.floor(diff/(1000*60*60*24))//msecs*secs*minutes*hours;
    document.write(daysleft);
    }
    showdays();

    Aargh! The text box ate part of the code. You just need script tags around what I have above. Cheers!

    Hey Scoop,

    Umm…. on this you say we have a test on Feb. 13th, but I’m pretty sure we don’t have school that day b/c the elementary schools have a report day. Unless that’s just the elementary schools that get off…
